New Impact Testing Facility

New Impact Testing Facility at the Structural Laboratory of Izmir Institute of Technology is finally up and running! The test setup is designed to test reinforced concrete slabs under impacts of free falling drop-weights. Accompanying the test setup, a high-speed data acquisition system and a high-speed camera helps to capture displacements, accelerations, support reactions and strains on reinforcing bars.

Test setup was built with the funding received from the European Community’s Seventh Framework Programme [FP7/2007-2013] under grant agreement n° 211092 (Project RCImpact).
